Overview of Our Professional Staff and Training

Our team comprises Resident Aides, Medication Technicians, and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for our care department. All staff members undergo a comprehensive 40-hour training specific to their position as mandated by New York State (NYS) regulations. Additionally, we conduct regular in-service training sessions to ensure our staff remains up-to-date on the latest NYS regulations and best practices in care.

Safety and Well-being Measures

To ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, all exits, with the exception of the front door and employee entrance, are alarmed. Residents are checked on every two to four hours based on their individual care plans. Moreover, each room is equipped with a call bell system, allowing residents to request assistance as needed between scheduled care times.

Transition Resources and Support Services

We provide a range of resources and support services to aid residents' transition into our community. This includes the assistance of a dedicated case manager and personalized care plans that detail each resident's preferences. Our activity director ensures that all residents have opportunities to engage in social activities that align with their interests.

Transportation Services

Our community offers transportation services for outings and appointments within the local area, facilitated by our community bus.

Dining Experience

We offer three restaurant-style meals daily at 8 AM, 12 PM, and 5 PM. Each meal features a special dish and an always available menu, catering to a variety of tastes and dietary needs.

Addressing Resident Complaints and Issues

We encourage residents to voice any concerns or issues they may have. They can file a grievance or request to speak directly with the Executive Director or another manager. Additionally, we have a resident council and a food committee to address specific issues.

Communication with Residents' Families

We maintain open lines of communication with residents' families, encouraging them to reach out to staff with any questions or concerns. We proactively contact families regarding any significant issues or changes in their loved one's condition. Our managers are also accessible via email, and we hold regular family meetings at least quarterly.

Short-term and Respite Stays

We offer respite stays with a minimum duration of 30 days. The cost is equivalent to one month's rent.

Pet-Friendly Community

Our community welcomes pets, provided residents can care for them independently. A one-time pet deposit of $1000 is required. Visitors bringing pets must provide annual veterinary records.

Waitlist Status

Currently, we do not have a waitlist for new residents.

Covid and Flu Vaccinations

While we have the capability to administer Covid and flu vaccinations, recent pharmacist shortages have posed challenges in providing these services.

Aging in Place

Our goal is to support residents in aging in place, in compliance with NYS regulations. We are committed to providing additional services, such as therapy, to ensure residents can remain in our community as long as possible.
