Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
We currently have a waitlist for our independent living and have a single 1-bedroom apartment in our assisted living available.
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
All team members receive Teepa Snow’s positive approach to care training when they are in their orientation process, as well as once every year following. Our nurse on staff is constantly working with her team and bringing in outside vendors to train her team where she sees fit throughout their career at Legacy. For instance, multiple times a year we will bring in vendors to assist our team in proper transfers & fall precautions, as well as ongoing dementia training.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
Legacy Living Florence has an emergency call system in place to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents. An emergency pull cord in placed in each master bathroom, as well as a pendant is worn for residents to access our care team whenever they need assistance. We also have security cameras located in the main area, hallways, and exterior parking lot to ensure our community is secure.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
Our director team assists new residents during their transition into the community by introducing them to current residents and assisting with any of their needs following move in.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
We offer transportation services to medical appointments during set hours on Wednesday and Thursday each week, and transportation services to run errands on set times on Tuesday of each week. Our residents received two free transportations per year and after these have been utilized, each transport is $25 for a round trip.
Our life enrichment department develops an activity calendar each month that includes an outing every Monday and Friday, if we do not have any large events planned for these days. These outings include, but are not limited to, Kroger, restaurants, Dollar Tree, and local shops.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
Our restaurant is open from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM and serves breakfast, lunch, & dinner all day, as well as fresh soup and an evening special. When a resident is visiting the restaurant for a meal, they will choose their spot as there is no assigned seating, they will have a seat, and a server will take their order and our chefs will prepare their meal. Residents choose when they would like to eat, what they want, and if they would like to eat in the restaurant or in their room.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
Legacy has an open-door policy, meaning that any complaints or issues you may have, you can address with a director at any given time. We will address the issues, make the necessary adjustments, and update you following.
What is the cost of living in your community?
Attached is our digital brochure including our pricing for our different service lines.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
We are in constant contact with our resident’s family members on how they are doing. If they have had any change in their baseline care needs, we will adjust the resident’s functional needs assessment and discuss this with either the resident or the proper designated family member.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
Respite stays are offered at Legacy if a room is available at the time. The cost is the same as our daily rates with level of care added, if needed.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
We LOVE pets at our community. ❤
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Yes! We have vaccination clinics in our community for residents to receive what they need.
Are residents able to age in place?
We have many residents that age in place at our community. Some start in our independent living and transition into our assisted living or memory care. Residents at Legacy cannot exceed a one-person assist, they must be able to self-evacuate in case there is an emergency, and they need to be able to participate in care.
